Art in the Landscape
The Connection
Another creative element necessary to ensure a successful and engaging landscape, is art. Often described as meeting points, focal points or points of interest, land art plays an integral part in guiding a user, linking spaces and enhancing the user experience. Land art can take many forms from monuments, carvings, sculptures, murals, water features, audio/visual installations or even living works. Art in the landscape can inspire a design or visa versa and can have cultural or historical significance or meaning.
A wider, open access to art, situations and ideas is essential, as it continues to re-evaluate and expand the approach to consider art's role and relevance in society. We believe by encouraging, nurturing and supporting artists in both a private and public context will help develop ability, confidence and aspiration.
